The mission of Fresno Grand Opera is simple -- to become a world class opera company!...and perhaps along the way transform Fresno into a place that takes great pride in being the home of a world renowned institution. To be a truly great opera company, we must produce truly great opera! And to do that, we must provide our extremely talented personnel with the resources necessary to create it.

Since our founding more than twelve years ago, Fresno Grand Opera has grown from a small start-up enterprise into one of the leading performing arts institutions in the Central Valley with an annual budget exceeding $2 million. Over the years, we’ve engaged some of the world’s leading artists including Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, Renée Fleming and Marcello Giordani.

As we embark on our second decade of operation, we are now looking to achieve at a level that perhaps just a few years ago did not seem imaginable. We are working to improve our product to a world class level to support the offering of additional productions and performances. We seek to expand educational and career development opportunities for emerging artists, and we envision the construction of new facilities to support our vision. Perhaps most exciting, we are putting in place the necessary strategies and resources to accomplish it!

Made up of more than 200 volunteer opera subscribers, it builds audiences by ensuring artistic excellence and developing relationships among current and future Fresno Grand Opera patrons.
