PAUL RAHEB NAMED PERMANENT FGO CHORUS MASTER
He served in the role last season on an interim basis, and will prepare the FGO Chorus
for main stage opera productions and conduct the Van Ness Series

Fresno Grand Opera is pleased to announce that Paul Raheb has been appointed to the position of Chorus Master of Fresno Grand Opera on a permanent basis. A California native with degrees in voice and conducting from Chapman University and University of Nevada, Reno, Mr. Raheb served as the interim chorus master last season, preparing the FGO Chorus for their roles in Sweeney Todd and Dead Man Walking, and conducting the Christmas on Van Ness and Broadway on Van Ness concerts at First Congregational Church.
Mr. Raheb currently serves as Director of Vocal Music and Musical Theater at Golden West High School in Visalia, and is very active in choral music in the Central Valley. In addition to his teaching, he has served on the voice faculty at College of the Sequoias and the California Opera Association. He is also founder and conductor of Visalia Vocal Artists and Orchestra.

Mr. Raheb’s duties will include rehearsing and preparing the Fresno Grand Opera Chorus for main stage opera productions, programming and conducting the chorus in the popular Van Ness Series, and advising Company leadership on the continued development of the FGO Chorus.
About Paul Raheb
Paul Raheb is a native Californian who is an active conductor, voice teacher, guest conduction, lecturer and performing vocal artist. Ensembles under his baton have performed throughout the United States, Austria, Finland, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, and the People’s Republic of China.
Mr. Raheb is on the music faculty at Golden West High School, where he serves at the Director of Vocal Music and Musical Theater. He has been selected to conduct before both California and Western Division American Choral Directors Association Conferences with his Golden West Choirs. In addition to his work at the high school, Mr. Raheb has served on the vocal music faculty of the College of the Sequoias and the California Opera Association. His work with COA is as both as a lecturer and performer, where he shares his expertise with young artists on aspects of music through in-depth masterclass series on International Phonetic Alphabet.
Mr. Raheb is a versatile performer both in front of and behind the podium. He is the founder and conductor of the Visalia Vocal Artists and Orchestra, and regularly performs both Oratorio and Opera roles throughout California including role of Bartolo (Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro) with the Visalia Opera Company, Simone (Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi) and Baltazar (Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors) with the California Opera Association. Mr. Raheb has also guest conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica Citta’ di Grosseto for the Florence Youth Festival in Verdi’s Missa di Requiem.
Mr. Raheb has competed graduate studies toward his Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Music Education at Boston University. He holds a Masters of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and Conducting from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he graduated with high academic honors. Mr. Raheb received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Conducting from Chapman University in Orange, California where he was named a Liberace Foundation Scholar.
