Fresno Grand Opera is excited to announce the artists that will perform at the FGO Recital Series event on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Mia Cuppa Caffe at 620 East Olive in Fresno. Recital begins at 7:30 pm.
In addition to her work with the Fresno Grand Opera Chorus, Sara A. Price is an active performer in the Fresno Arts community. While her musical training at Chapman University was primarily classical, Ms. Price has enjoyed inhabiting the world of musical theater. After coming to Fresno in 2004, Ms. Price worked with Fresno Unified School District Music Department, as well as performing with Good Company Players, Stageworks Fresno, and Fresno Grand Opera. Her favorite roles include Mother in Ragtime, Rona Lisa Peretti in Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Mother Superior in The Sound of Music.
Terry Lewis is returning to Fresno Grand Opera, with past company performances in Bizet’s Carmen, Verdi’s Rigoletto and La Traviata, and Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. Other operatic appearances include leading roles in Puccini’s La Bohème, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Così fan tutte. Mr. Lewis has performed leading roles in several musicals and plays, including the title role in the valley premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, Phantom of the Opera. Terry Lewis is regularly engaged as a singer, pianist and vocal teacher/coach, and Director. A long time Fresno native, Mr. Lewis resides in the Tower District, and works in the Music & Media department in the Henry Madden Library at Fresno State.
Collaborative Pianist Hatem Nadim returns to Fresno Grand Opera for the FGO Recital Series. Mr Nadim was born in Cairo (Egypt). At age ten, he entered the Cairo Conservatoire, where he studied solo piano. Nadim continued post-graduate studies in chamber music and vocal accompaniment at the University of Frankfurt in Germany.
Currently the Staff Accompanist at California State University Fresno, past positions include faculty member at the University of Music in Mannheim, and the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Hatem Nadim has performed extensively throughout Europe, the United States, Korea and the Middle East. Mr. Nadim has several recordings, the latest of which is a complete collection of the Mozart Violin Sonatas and Variations with the German violinist, Susanne Rabenschlag.
