About Fresno Grand Opera
Fresno Grand Opera is an extraordinary resource for the cultural life of the city of Fresno and the entire Central Valley. Incorporated in 1998, the company produces opera featuring artists of international renown and world class concerts for the residents of Fresno and California’s entire Central Valley region. It provides educational as well as career development opportunities for young artists and serves as a catalyst and resource for the cultural growth of Central California.
Fresno Grand Opera’s mission is to produce world class opera for the residents of the Central Valley. The company debuted with a production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly on April 9, 1999 at the William Saroyan Theatre that received national critical acclaim. Since then, the company has produced twelve seasons of opera while engaging world renowned artists including Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo, Renée Fleming, Marcello Giordani and Andrea Bocelli.
